LEAP

Project Coordinator, LEAP is a research centre operating in the fields of energy and environment. With a strong focus on technology transfer, conducts research at both national and international level and consulting services in collaboration with both industry and public organisations. LEAP is already involved in 7 EU projects, 1 PNNR project and 4 ERDF 2021-27 projects, as well as several consulting services on the topic of advanced forecasting tool, asset modelling and optimisation of asset management in the field of the smart energy systems.

Politecnico di Milano

Politecnico di Milano offers an extensive selection of engineering, architectural, and design courses and is the largest technical university in Italy, ranking first in Italy and fifth in Europe for Horizon-funded initiatives. The Dept. of Energy investigates all fields and technologies associated with energy production, conversion, transportation, utilisation from the perspective of environmental and social sustainability.

INESC TEC

INESC TEC is a private non-profit research association dedicated to scientific research and technological development. The Centre for Power and Energy Systems specializes in decision-making tools for the integration of distributed energy resources in distribution systems, as well as energy and flexibility markets. The focus is on developing energy management systems at energy community and district levels with interoperable solutions.

Bettergy

Bettergy is a cleantech company specializing in renewable energy solutions and advanced energy management software. With a strong focus on innovation, BETTERGY develops tools for the design, operation, and monitoring of photovoltaic self-consumption systems, incorporating storage and energy forecasting capabilities. The company is committed to fostering energy transition and sustainability by delivering cutting-edge solutions for optimizing renewable energy integration, enhancing flexibility.

ICCS

ICCS is a non-profit, private legal entity which is the research host of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (SECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). ICCS will participate in the project through the Energy Policy Unit (EPU) of the Decision Support Systems Laboratory, a multidisciplinary scientific unit within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Operating for more than 30 years, EPU has a long tradition in scientific consulting, promotion, training and research activities in the areas of management and decision support systems or energy and climate policy design, renewable energy and energy efficiency planning.

Smartflex

Smartflex is a private company dedicated to drive the transformation towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient world. Through a comprehensive suite of services, SMARTFLEX is targeted at the energy sector, ensuring tailored solutions for every need and stakeholder in the ongoing smart energy transition. Advanced data management, analytics, machine learning, AI, and technical project management expertise let SMARFLEX provide research-inspired solutions and practical support for public and private sector projects.

VITO

VITO is Belgium’s largest independent R&D organization on sustainable technology covering material management, chemistry, health, land use, and energy. In the area of Sustainable Energy, there is a strong focus on Demand-Response enabling activities, covering multi-energy flexibility identification and modelling, and building- and district energy management solutions based on Grid Interactive Buildings concepts. This Modelling and Algorithmic expertise is complemented by technological expertise related to electricity networks and heat networks including electrical and heat storage and conversion technologies.

KTH

KTH is the largest technical university in Sweden. The Energy Technology Department will be participating in the project. KTH will contribute as a partner, leveraging from vast experience in the field of developing open-source tools for energy communities and energy utilities through system-based optimization, AI based techniques and validation of developed tools with real data form existing municipalities in Sweden. The department of energy technology has extensive experience in research and development of energy infrastructure solutions from component, subsystem to system level. The Department participates in several national and international projects related to the present project, including ERANET IntegrCities, Sharing Cities Stockholm, SamSpEl Robust Electrical Infrastructure, CUSIC and Wuxi Sino-Swedish EcoCity.

Örebro municipality

Örebro Kommun is a municipality located in central Sweden, situated between Stockholm and Gothenburg, making it a central hub with strong connectivity. The department of Environment and City Planning will participate in the project with the Tamarinden district, a pioneering project that enables buildings to share locally produced electricity across property borders, an achievement that required legislative changes inspired by the project. The municipality will actively engage in research collaborations, focusing on optimizing local electricity and thermal systems.
